As a four year old, he was Champion of the Jumper Development Series for 4 & 5 year old horses in Ontario and winner of the Eastern Finale of the Series at the Tournament of Champions.  In 2001, he continued his successful career in the jumper ring under Roberto Teran and was Reserve Champion of the Ontario Jumper Development Series and Reserve Champion at the National Jumper Championships for 5 year old horses at the Royal Winter Fair.  In 2002, Erynn Ballard and Viva Voltaire finished the Ontario Jumper Development Series for 6 year old horses in fifth place. Because of his accomplishments, Viva Voltaire is recognized as an approved North American Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program Stallion.

Viva Voltaire shares the same dam line as Sandro's Boy, the 2006 winner of the World Cup for show jumping under Marcus Ehning.  Viva Voltaire's pedigree features three outstanding sires, Voltaire, Grannus, a grand-son of the legendary Grande, and Argentinus, that were all successful competitors themselves and produced many international show jumper progeny.
