FOAL-FARM
UPDATE
We
finally named the palomino colt by Viva
Voltaire (elite
imported Hanoverian) out of Clair
de Lune
(imported Swedish Warmblood) that was born 9-Jul-07. His name is Volaré,
as suggested by my grandmother, and is a Spanish word that means, “I will fly”.
This boy has
become very friendly and is so athletic. There are a number of
new photos and a video of him available on Volaré’s
Page. I also have a longer DVD for interested buyers –
please send me your mailing address.

Clair
de Lune
(Swedish Warmblood) was inspected by the Hanoverian Society on
July 28. There are 3 studbooks for the Hanoverians: the Pre
Studbook for Thoroughbreds and Arabians, the Studbook
for Hanoverian mares with overall scores less than 6.0 with no
sub-scores less than 4.0 (out of 10), and the Main
Studbook for mares with an overall score of 6.0 or more
with no sub-score less than 5.
Clair
de Lune did not receive a single score below 6.0 and also
received 7.0’s for both her neck and free trot, and a 7.0+ for
walk in hand. Her overall score was 6.33, which would have been
sufficient for Hanoverian Main Stud Book inclusion if
her sire and dam were both Hanoverians…. However, because she
was from a non-Hanoverian registry out of non-Hanoverian parents and only scored as good as, but
not better than the Hanoverian mares, she was not
accepted into the Hanoverian Main Stud Book and was not allowed in
to any other lower studbooks (a seemingly unfair rule they have
for Warmblood mares only). As a result, Volaré could not be
branded Hanoverian.
Nonetheless,
Volaré will be registered and receive full papers with the
Swedish Warmblood Association of N.A. and may also qualify for
breeding approval (as a stallion) in the future with a number of
registries including Hanoverian, Oldenburg and Rhinelander.
We will be raising him as a stallion prospect if he is not sold.

|
Olé
(sabino Holsteiner) has been bred (again) to Cabardino
(Holsteiner). We are still eagerly awaiting pregnancy confirmation
as we were not able to settle Olé with the first breeding
attempt. We are hoping that she will be due at the end of June
next year. Foal will have a 75% chance of being sabino, will
be registered AHHA and is offered for sale in
utero. |

|
|
|
Jamaica
(imported buckskin Swedish Warmblood) will be re-bred to
Olympic Concorde
(KWPN) after loosing her first pregnancy earlier this year
due to some unfortunate poor veterinary services. We are
still eagerly awaiting pregnancy confirmation. We are hoping the
foal will be due end of June, early July next year – another
late baby for Jamaica but she proves that good things are
definitely worth the wait, cue Bali.
Foal will have a 50% chance of being palomino or buckskin, can be
registered KWPN-NA or with SWANA and is offered for sale in
utero, colt option only. |

...AND
THE NEW BOY IS...
Our
gorgeous, extremely friendly BUCKSKIN
SABINO SWEDISH WARMBLOOD COLT, CATAPULT!
We
imported Catapult from Sweden in early March 2007.
This boy is our next stallion and upper level jumper prospect.
He has
50% Holsteiner, 25% Selle Français
and 25% Swedish bloodlines with an AMAZING pedigree of
renowned ancestors. His direct ancestors include Cor
de la Bryère, Ladykiller, Grand Veneur and Ibrahim.
He is indirectly related to Nimmerdor, Roman, Almé and Chin
Chin. His sire, Cagliostro, is rated Premium
A with the Swedish Warmblood Association (ASVH) and
is currently competing in Grand Prix jumping against world
champions such as Rodrigo Pessoa with Baloubet du Rouet
(2004 Olympic gold medalists).

Catapult
has a lovely disposition and will greet you in the paddock
and give you lots of kisses. He loves to play with his
mini pal, Donkey, all day long. He also has very
interesting sabino markings including a full blaze, white
chin, "lightning bolt" right hind marking and a
belly spot (which is too far under his belly to appear in
any photos). He already stands just shy of 15hh as a
yearling and is expected to mature ~16.3-17.0hh.
We
will be taking him to a yearling halter confirmation class
in September. Stay tuned for results. We plan on
showing him and having him approved with a number of top
Warmblood registries as a 4-year-old before offering him as
a stallion. There
are many photos of this gorgeous boy on our newly-updated
website. Click on Catapult’s
Page for more information.
