WHAT'S NEW?

Looking back at our past newsletters, it would appear that I've been delinquent again at sending out an update (Sept. 1, 2006 was our last correspondence).  So, what's been happening around the farm?

MEDALLION

First off, the biggest news would be that Medallion has been sold... and gelded!  He is now owned by a young woman who will be showing him in Adult Amateur competitions.  She was just smitten with Medallion and we have been told that he is the barn favorite because of his sweet nature.

We still do have frozen semen available for Medallion but only limited quantities.  Cost per dose is $450 US and there are no live foal guarantees due to the limited supply.

SALES

Bali (Medallion x Jamaica) was sold in January to Joe Pereira of Quebec, Canada.  We had SO much interest in Bali including purchase contracts out for him in Canada, the USA and Scotland!  Joe returned his contract first and is now the proud owner of Bali.  I have a retained breeding right to Bali should he be kept as a stallion.  Joe will see how he matures over the years and is considering keeping Bali as a stallion.  The photo below was from November 2006, just before Bali was weaned (please forgive the winter fuzzies).  In the photo, he is nearly 4 months of age... yes, only FOUR months!  For reference, I'm 5'5" and mom, Jamaica, is 16.3hh, and the black fuzzy thing in the background is the size of a cat (even if he thinks he's the same size as the "big dogs").  Bali is expected to mature no less than 17.0hh.

MARE UPDATE         Watch the Lady (JC Thoroughbred) is in foal to Guaranteed Gold (JC Thoroughbred) and is due April 20, 2007.  This foal was sold in utero to Katie Clark.  Check out her horses for sale and her maximum sabino JC thoroughbred stallion.  Lady will return to her owner, Barbara Hutchinson, in Summer 2007. Astral (Swedish Warmblood) is in foal to Medallion (German Warmblood) and is due 9-Jun-07.  This foal was purchased in utero by Blake Williams. Clair de Lune (Swedish Warmblood) is confirmed in foal to the elite Hanoverian stallion, Viva Voltaire (Voltaire x Grannus x Argentinus), and is due July 31, 2007.  It may have taken almost the entire season, but we are very eager to meet this foal.  This foal will be for sale, colt option only.  Buy now in utero and $ave!  This foal is eligible for full Swedish papers and may qualify for full Hanoverian papers as well!  Imagine owning the very first dilute Hanoverian.... We plan to breed Jamaica (Left, Swedish Warmblood) to Budweiser (GOV) and Waltilde  (Right, KWPN) to Olympic Concorde (KWPN).       Waltilde is currently in training and we hope to show her in the A-Circuit Jumper Development Series this year.  Both foals will be offered for sale, Jamaica's foal is a colt option only.     ...TOP SECRET...     We are in the process of importing our next stallion prospect... he's out of world class jumping bloodlines (directly related to Cor de la Bryère (SF), Ladykiller xx and Ibrahim (SF), indirectly related to Nimmerdor, Landgraf I, Almé, and Chin Chin)... did I mention he's buckskin sabino and will have full papers with TOP breed registries?  He won't be available for stallion services for quite some time as he's only a yearling.  More information will be on our website some time this year.  In addition to www.superiorhorse.net, we also have a new website address that you can access at www.palominowarmblood.com.
