Update - February 17, 2006:

MEDALLION FOALS ARE HERE!

It's boys x 2 for us so far this year.  Medallion has given us two very stunning colts.  BOENEROS ("Bow-and-Arrows" and "-eros" the Greek God of Love), or "Beau" as he's fondly called, was born on Valentine's Day, February 14.  He is a light chestnut, possibly dark palomino.  He is very eye-catching with a huge star, some snips and two white hind socks.  He has MASSIVELY thick legs - this boy isn't going to break down. He'll be an outstanding Hunter/Jumper, or Eventer.  Shy at first, this boy also has a sense of humor and will start nibbling on your clothes if you're not watching him.

Boeneros is offered for sale.  Click here to learn more about BOENEROS.

Colt #2 is a never-ending leggy boy named Brioso, which is Portuguese for "Self-Confident" - a name that suits him to a tee.  Brioso was born just this morning, February 17, but the vet was convinced he couldn't be only a few hours old with such straight and long legs.  This boy is gorgeous with matching hind stockings and a beautiful blaze.  He is possibly buckskin and both Brioso and Boeneros will be tested via DNA typing to see if they carry the dilute cream gene.  Brioso is the first foal for Vistosa who is absolutely smitten with him.  Brioso is very friendly and didn't even flinch when the vet had to poke him with big scary needles... twice!

Kate Platz of Michigan is the very proud new owner of this spectacular colt.  We wish these two all the best in the future!  Click here to learn more about BRIOSO.

NEW BROODMARES

We've recently acquired a few more broodmares to add to our herd.  Astral is a beautiful buckskin Swedish Warmblood mare who has had many premium foals.  She carries the invaluable lines of Gaspari (one of Sweden's most influential Dressage sires in history) and Carajan (a world-famous Showjumping Trakehner stallion who competed in the Olympic games... Twice!).  Astral will be joining our group in early March and will be bred to Medallion.

Watch the Lady, or "Lady", is the thickest Thoroughbred I've ever seen.  This girl looks nothing like a Thoroughbred, but indeed she is.  She has raced and won and has many Hall of Fame sires in her pedigree including Northern Dancer and Man 'O War/War Admiral x 3.  Lady was kindly leased to us for the year by Barbara Hutcheson.  Lady will be bred to Guaranteed Gold, a cremello Thoroughbred stallion, in the hopes of producing a future dilute Thoroughbred broodmare for our group.

MEDALLION'S TRAINING AND AVAILABILITY

Medallion will be training and competing in Canada for the majority of the year.  His schedule is posted on Medallion's Page.  He will be in Ohio for 3-4 months this year, or as much as possible in between his competitions.  Shipped semen will be available most days for delivery to either Canada or the USA.

Until next time, happy horsing!
