Calando I (elite Holst) out of
Zilia (Holst)
Cagliostro, attained the highest scores in jumping during his stallion testing in 1997
in Sweden before starting his
debut in the national
and international show jumping ring in Europe. In
2004, he was approved for breeding with the Holsteiner verband. Cagliostro
has won and placed in numerous Grand Prix and International competitions
including the World Equestrian Games, the Nation’s Cup (FEI: CSIO4*),
and the World Cup (FEI: CSI-W).
As of 2005,
Cagliostro had claimed more than 20 wins and nearly 100 placings in
international Grand Prix jumping classes at fence heights up to 1.60m
(5'2"). He was awarded the Premeirad
A designation
from the ASVH (Swedish Warmblood) and his BLUP-index in

In
the 2005 Nation’s Cup, Cagliostro had a clear round in Athens, GRE (Team Silver), double clear round in
Zagreb, CRO (Team Silver), and a clear round in Podebrady, CZE. In
2005, he also competed and placed with Niklas Arvidsson in the FEI
Western European League World Cup in Sweden against world-renowned
horse-rider combinations including Meredith and Ludger Beerbaum
(with Shutterfly & Couleur Rubin respectively), Nick Skelton
(with Arko III), John Whitaker (with Exploit de Roulard) and the
2004 Olympic Individual Gold Medalist, Rodrigo Pessoa (with Baloubet
du Rouet). Although the team finished with 8 faults, they only
had 1 more rail down than Rodrigo Pessoa and Baloubet du Rouet who
had 4 faults: a clear indication of the difficulty of the course.
Cagliostro
is considered to be one of (if not the) best Calando I
son.
