Bay/Dun Swedish Warmblood
(SWB)
Born April 7, 1986
16.0hh (163cm)
This
mare didn't like her new herd mates and jumped out of her paddock so she
could be with her friends.
The paddock's fences are 4'0" tall and she cleared it! Astral
is a beautiful golden bay (almost buckskin in color) Swedish Warmblood
and is also approved Trakhener and OLD/ISR. Astral is a proven broodmare
and has produced many premium foals: Her 2001 colt was one of the top
scoring Swedish foals for the North American tour one year with scores
of 9-7-9!

Astral is by Johanniter
who was champion of his stallion
testing at Aachen and finished in the top
25% of his 100 day test as a 3-year-old. He was imported to the USA
in 1985 as a breeding stallion, but was shown successfully through Third Level
dressage.
In
Astral's pedigree, we find many famous Swedish and Trakehner jumping and
dressage stallions
including Tannenberg,
who was Reserve Champion at the 1968 Neumünster approvals,
Irak 363, who sired many premium offspring, and Jaguar 548,
who competed at Z-Level (Third/Fourth) dressage in Germany and was rated
A-Premium for his offspring in Sweden.
Gaspari
340, who is arguably one of the most renowned dressage stallions in
history, was an International Grand Prix competitor that participated in
the 1960 and 1964 Olympics. His very famous
son, Piaff, won the European Championships in 1969 and 1971, the
Individual Gold Medal at the Munich Olympics 1972 and the Silver Medal
at the World Championships in Aachen in 1970 and again in Copenhagen in
1974. Gaspari is noted as having very good
balance, tempo and elasticity that he consistently passes on to his
offspring. They have a saying in Sweden: "Buy any dressage
horse you like, just make sure it has Gaspari in the pedigree."
Carajan
is considered to be one of the ultimate Trakehner jumper of all time and
has sired an outstanding number of top level show jumpers. He has
approximately 20 approved sons and over 80 daughters to his name, most
of which possess his proud appearance, good size and frame, solid
conformation, excellent gaits, willingness to work and jumping talent. SOLD!
